Where can I change the type of product visible on my invoices?

When creating invoices, it's essential that the goods or services you sell are correctly listed. This ensures clarity and accuracy in your financial and accounting documents. In this article, we'll explore three simple methods to help you select the right product category.


1. From the invoice editor :

When you're about to create or modify a draft invoice, you can directly adjust the product type from the invoice editor. Here's how:

  • Open the invoice editor for the relevant invoice.
  • Locate the column dedicated to the product type for each item on the invoice.
  • Click on the field corresponding to the product you want to modify.
  • Select the new product type from the dropdown list that appears.

2. From the product list :

You can also adjust the product type directly from the product profile. Here's how:

  • Go to the Products section.
  • Select the profile of the product you want to modify.
  • Choose the new appropriate category for the product.
  • Save the changes.

Once you make this change, every time this product is added to an invoice, its category will be automatically updated.

3. From the invoicing settings :

For more comprehensive management, you can set a default category for all of your invoices. Here's how:

  • Go to My Account and select Invoicing settings, then Invoice fields.
  • Choose the appropriate category for your needs.
  • Save the changes.

This option is particularly convenient for entrepreneurs who regularly bill the same types of products.
